This amazing one-of-a-kind contract concerning the recording and promotion of the historic "We are the World" charity single is signed by co-writers Michael Jackson - twice - and Lionel Richie. Dated January 1, 1985, this document is the origin of the fundraising anthem recorded by the USA for Africa super group of more than 40 legendary musicians, including Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Ray Charles, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Steve Perry, and many more.

This 8.5" x 11", seven-page document is a joint agreement between Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie splitting the credit for songwriting 50/50, and directing all royalties and proceeds received from "We Are The World" are to be donated 100% to victims of the famine in Africa.

"We are the World" is one of the best selling singles of all time and one of the most iconic songs of the 80s. It ultimately won four Grammys, including "Record of the Year", "Song of the Year", Best pop performance by duo group with vocal", and "Best short form music video." In total, "We are the World" raised more than $80 million for a humanitarian aid.
