In early August 1969 The Beatles were in the Process of Completing what most Music Critics now claim to be their Greatest Album. With the Working Title being "Everest" it was time to make the long trip to Mount Everest to shoot the Cover, but John Lennon was not on board with that plan, and instead said "Screw that! I'm Not going Anywhere! Lets Just take the Picture right outside here on the street, and call it Abbey Road!" And So it was.

On August 6th, Paul McCartney did a rough sketch of The Beatles crossing Abbey Road to show Photographer lain MacMillan, who then Photographed the Iconic Cover shot on August 8th, 1969 on a step ladder in the middle of Abbey Road while a Police Officer Held up traffic for just 10 minutes. The former owner of this Piece of Music History notes that Paul McCartney drew this more detailed Sketch of the Famous "Abbey Road" Cover, just days before the album was released in September, 1969 and gave it to one of the Studio Employees who worked there while The Beatles were creating Their Final Masterpiece "Abbey Road" which would be their Last Album they would record together.
