Presented here is a very attractive, complete 72 card set - plus one variation card - of 1948 Bowman Basketball including the iconic George Mikan rookie card. The 1948 Bowman Basketball series is particularly significant as this is the first set ever issued devoted exclusively to basketball and the only basketball set Bowman exclusively produced. Cards from this set are extremely hard to find in high grade in part because these cards (like 1949 Bowman baseball) often naturally have soft corners due to the quality of the paper stock on which they are printed.

This is a clean mid-grade set with excellent eye-appeal and key cards PSA graded as follows: George Mikan #69 PSA VG 3, William Holzman #32 PSA EX 5, Jack Smiley #33 PSA EX-MT 6, Harry Jeanette #38 PSA VG-EX+ 4.5, Ed Sadowski #48 PSA VG-EX 4, Jim Pollard #66 PSA EX-MT 6, Walter Budko PSA #70 NM 7. This set also includes a gray background variation for card #63, along with the standard blue background version. Total: 73 cards.
