This letter dated August 28th, 1965 was handwritten by Janis Joplin, one of the icons of the San Francisco music scene in the late 1960s, & gives us a look into her pre-fame personal life. Joplin's letter to her then fiancé, Peter de Blanc, tells him of how lonesome she is while waiting for him to return to her in Texas to marry her. History tells us that it wasn't meant to be as de Blanc soon broke off his engagement to the young Janis Joplin, just before she shot to fame.
